What Gaffer Maths collects, why, who sees it, how long it's kept, and how to delete it.
Gaffer Maths is operated by [trading name or company, registered address and company number: to be completed before launch], the data controller for the information below. Contact: hello@gaffermaths.co.uk.
No ads, no tracking or advertising cookies, no analytics service, and we never ask for your FPL email or password. You can use the free tools without an account. If you make one, you can delete it in one step from your account page.
Without an account: the FPL team or league ID you type in (to fetch public FPL data), and, for the free usage limits and the captain poll, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser type. We don't store your IP address itself.
With an account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), your FPL team ID, settings, pinned leagues, tracked rivals, watchlist, saved plans and in-app alerts.
If you start Pro: your plan and its dates, and the IDs Stripe gives your customer record and subscription. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. When you start, we record exactly what you agreed to (the price, the trial and the cancellation terms shown, plus your consent to Pro starting immediately), with the time, your IP address and browser, as evidence of the agreement. To keep free trials to one per card, we keep the card's fingerprint (a code Stripe derives from the card, not the card number).
Technical logs: for each request to our API, the page or endpoint, the result, how long it took, a request ID and, if you are signed in, your account number. No IP addresses. Error reports from the site are logged the same way.
In your browser: your sign-in token, your theme, the last team you looked at, and whether you hid a banner today. These are needed for the site to work and are never used for tracking.
To provide the service you asked for, including your account and Pro (contract). To keep the service secure and fair, such as usage limits, abuse and fraud prevention and the one-trial-per-card rule (legitimate interests). To keep records of payments and agreements that the law requires (legal obligation).
Stripe processes payments. Our hosting provider and Cloudflare run and protect the site. Brevo sends our emails (trial reminders and billing notices) once email is switched on. If the optional answer-rewording feature is on, the assistant sends your question, our draft answer and the supporting numbers to Anthropic, never your name, email or account details. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. [Transfer safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy, to be confirmed in legal review.]
Account data: until you delete your account. Technical logs: 14 days. Database backups: 14 days, after which deleted accounts are gone from backups too. Usage counts: per gameweek or per day, then they stop mattering. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its privacy policy.
You can access, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Most of this you can do yourself: settings on your account page, and "Delete my account" there removes your account, watchlist, saved plans, alerts and settings straight away (cancelling any Pro subscription first). For anything else, contact us at the address above.
For anything you can't do yourself, or any question about your data, email hello@gaffermaths.co.uk.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Gaffer Maths is not aimed at children. [Minimum age to be confirmed in legal review.]
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll say so on the site before the change applies.
